The hotel that I stayed in Beijing was called the Forest & Land Hotel. Yes, it is a strange name for a hotel. I found it online after about 2 weeks of budget hotel searching. Strange is it not, that good, budget hotels only can be found only with hard searching work. Well I did find one for my Beijing trip & I will write about my personal experience but not in this post. The forest & land hotel is located near the main road of Qian Guai Bang Chaoyangmen Street Beijing. Yes it is a mouthful to say but it is a strategic area for budget travelers.

Taking Photos of Car Location in Big Car Parks

2 November, 2008 (19:27) | VE South East Asia | By: a.i. editor

A few days ago I went to KLIA (Kuala Lumpur International Airport) to send my lady off to her Russian homeland. There is a lot to inform you about the trip but I will include them in another future post. The thing that I do want to mention is how I got mixed up with the parking at KLIA that morning.

It is usual for me to take a photo of where I parked the car especially when using very large parking facilities like at mega sized shopping malls, airports, & etc. Whenever, I don’t take a picture, I usually forget where I parked the car! Well, the incident at KLIA the other day was different. I took the above picture & still I forgot where I parked the car! LOL! Two Separate Buildings for KLIA Car Park.

Lousy Beijing First Impression: Greeted with Thick Haze

3 October, 2008 (07:17) | VE East Asia | By: a.i. editor

Yes, it is no surprise for Beijing, China to have a huge haze problem enveloping the gracious city. Like in the picture above, you can hardly see any further past the Beijing International airport building. My first arrival to Beijing soil, China back in September 2007 was greeted with a sight of thick haze, overshadowing the Beijing international airport.

I felt like I was on another part of the world, well, actually I was in another part of the world already by being in Beijing. What I mean is that my first sight of Beijing was not at all what I had expected. In my mind was beautiful greenery & majestic, colorful oriental palaces. Instead, Beijing is smoking! The airport looks decent on its own but the smog/haze will literally disappoint any good first impressions for visitors to the infamous city of Beijing.
