Best Char Kuey Teow in Ampang

One of the best Char Kuey Teow; flat rice noodles in soy sauce egg based gravy is a delicacy in Malaysia. The dish originated from the Penang state of Malaysia which is located in the north western side of peninsula Malaysia. The best Char Kuey Teow that I have tasted near my home in Ampang is at Bukit Indah. The name of the place is Sham Char Kuey Teow. A large size dish costs RM4.50 to date & you receive at least two medium sized prawns in your serving of Char Kuey Teow.

The gravy is the secret of the delicious dish. Although the dish does not look to good but the taste is good. I don’t have the picture of the dish yet, just doing some hype promo of the stall now. Lol. However, I hope to make the Char Kuey Teow dish presentable & whip up a pretty photo for you readers. Whenever you happen to be in Ampang near Bukit Indah, do drop by for a Char Kuey Teow meal! The stall is among a few stall under one roof. Apart from Char Kuey Teow, you can feast on other local dishes & also western food. It’s opposite the big mosque. You won’t miss it! Happy Voyage & eating!

All Night Return Drive from Singapore

26 October, 2008 (17:27) | VE South East Asia | By: a.i. editor

Heck, do I feel so tired now after returning from my Johor Bahru/Singapore trip with my lady. After the first two trips by plane to Manila & Bali respectively, it was a fair decision for us to make the third & last trip to Singapore by car. I was so tired of going by plane. Going by car to Johor Bahru, Malaysia took about 5 hours, including the stops for resting. It would have taken only about 45 minutes by plane but the bus trip to the airport & waiting in queue was not appealing to me & my lady anymore. I will write more on my Singapore trip in the future. At the moment all I can say about my Singapore trip now is that my first impression of the Singapore city is good, like a thriving urban garden of the tropics. I drove through the night & arrived home at about 5am in the morning. I feel very tired but the experience is overall a memorable one. Happy week to you voyage echoes readers!

To Singapore on Friday

Bali Beach 2008

I have plenty of good quality pictures & plenty of stories to tell you readers about my recent Manila & Bali trip. Tomorrow, I am just going to read & organize the essentials for the Singapore trip on Friday. I am just too whooped out to think about it tonight. Yes, I hope & suspect that the Singapore trip won’t cost as much as the Bali trip as me & my lady will be staying in a Johor Bahru (Malaysia) hotel & enter into Singapore via the causeway. Besides, it will be just for 3 days & 2 nights with only one whole day of very basic sight seeing in Singapore. I don’t know; maybe we will just walk about the main Orchard Street in Singapore, buy some souvenirs & then call it a day. Lol!
