Partial Beijing Map Showing Grids & Bus Routes

5 September, 2008 (02:45) | VEW East Asia | By: a.i. editor

Let me show you the area in Beijing on map where is stayed when I visited the city back in September 2007. I marked the area in red with the words ‘I Stayed Here’ on the above map. As you can see, I stayed not far away from the Forbidden City in Beijing! Well, at least, it does not look far away on the map! Lol. The city of Beijing is in grid lock so you can navigate easily throughout the city. You can download a bigger, unmarred version of the partial Beijing map by clicking here too.

On my visit to Beijing with my lady, we used the taxi service as it is the most convenient from the airport. You will be surprised at how much it cost. I guess it was about 80 yuan (US$12) from the airport to the hotel in Beijing. Besides, the taxi driver can help you locate the hotel for your stay. Anyway, the taxi fare is not pricey for such a far distance. Otherwise, upon arrival to the Beijing international airport, you may decide to use the much cheaper bus transport system to get into Beijing City. Click on the Bus Route map to download a copy.

Humorous Las Vegas Taxi Driver

22 August, 2008 (03:43) | VEW North America | By: a.i. editor

The most humorous experience I had in Las Vegas city was in a taxi ride. My self & my family arrived at the airport & we wanted to go straight to the hotel to unpack our bags, rest, & be ready for some Las Vegas tours. It was a fortunate experience for me & my family to have a taxi driver who is friendly & possess a good sense of humor. The taxi driver was talking throughout the entire trip. The strange & funny thing was that a lot of it did not make much sense to me. Well, at least he was trying to be funny. I guess he was practicing his stand up comedy act for a Las Vegas show of sorts. However, there was one moment where he was truly funny.

It happened when the taxi was slowing down. The taxi driver suddenly shouted out loud ‘There are so many speed bumps in Las Vegas; I hate Speed Bumps’! Throughout the entire taxi ride, we did not even go through a single speed bump! The Las Vegas trip followed our stay in Los Angeles where we visited a few major tourist attractions like Knot’s Berry Farm (Get your Knotts berry farm tickets) & Universal Studios. Do take a look at the online travel guides for more tourist attraction information.
