Thick Dark Pollution Clouds over Beijing

3 October, 2008 (06:45) | VE East Asia | By: a.i. editor

You may already know that Beijing even during the recent Olympics events were not exactly the most unpolluted city on the planet. In fact Beijing suffers from smog/haze pollution brought in by the winds from other parts of industrial China. Nonetheless, you will find that Beijing on the ground is a clean city. There was not one day on my visit to Beijing city back in September 2007 that there were no workers cleaning the streets. Big Beijing Haze Problem.

I don’t know about the post Olympics scenario in Beijing today but I reckon it’s not much difference than the pre Olympics months. Back on the point of the blog post, you can see in the above photo that there is a thick gray layer of clouds over Beijing. At first I did not realize it was a pollution problem. I just thought that they were very dark clouds like before it rains. I did not care much about the smog in Beijing during my stay; because I was too excited & happy being with my lady.
