Plenty of Historical Buildings in Melaka City
There are a lot of historical buildings in Melaka city, more than in other states of Malaysia. Hence, it would be the perfect choice for tourist to choose Melaka for a visit to view historical buildings. In the above picture is the red building which formerly belonged to the former Dutch colonialists.
The Dutch empire took over Melaka from the Portuguese in the 1600s & stayed for another hundred years & more. Nearby is the Malay & Islamic World Museum (in the above picture) where visitors can view the history & culture of the Malay people who founded Melaka & the rest of the Malay Peninsular & East Malaysia in the 1400s & earlier.
