Many people who own real gold know that when they buy gold, they are preserving the value of their money.

Rather than having all their money in currencies, many people choose to save their money in gold and other precious metals which in the long term is well known to be a rewarding endeavor. Many big banks offer gold savings accounts where you can own gold without having to spend so much money buying real gold. Another alternative is to own pure gold coins which costs much less than a gold bullion.

Your Green travel a.k.a. sustainable travel/tourism can begin even before you step out of the front door of your home. You can do so by booking your flights with airlines that practice recycling & buy electronic tickets which prevent waste paper.

Another thing you can do as part of your Green travel preparation is to make sure that the home you are leaving for the trip is energy efficient & safe. For example, you can turn the water heater to the lowest setting, unplug all electronic devices from the sockets – saving as much as 40 watts per hour in the event of a leak even when off, and also turn your home’s water supply off at the outside connection to avoid flooding in case a pipe breaks while you are away on travel.

How Sustainable Tourism Relates to Eco Friendly Green Travel Concept

You will be helping to save the environment which is a major reason why you should practice ‘Green Travel’. A critical approach in helping to save the environment a.k.a. being eco-friendly is Sustainable Development which itself, covers a broad scope as listed by the United Nations Division for Sustainable Development. This list includes the following areas of Energy, Waste, Technology, Finance, Atmosphere, Human Settlements, and the list goes on.

What is Sustainable Tourism?

The area within Sustainable Development that we, as ‘Green’ travelers should pay the closest attention to is Sustainable Tourism: the core of ‘Green travel’ concept. Sustainable Tourism is focused on environmental integrity, social justice and economic development in order to reduce the impact of tourism on tourist destinations. This agenda helps to preserve tourist destinations for future generations, fulfilling a purpose that is outlined in the below definition of sustainability.

A widely accepted definition of sustainability articulated by the World Commission on Environment and Development (Brundtland Commission) in 1989: “[to meet] the needs of the present without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their own needs.”

Continuous growth of tourism on a particular tourist destination adds stress to its environment and the cultures of their indigenous people. Ill informed people unwittingly disturb the natural eco-systems by destroying animal habitats, throwing rubbish, and even influence the natives to hunt exotic animals and find ancient artifacts to sell to them and etc. This situation is not at all eco-friendly.

Left unchecked, this situation will have a serious impact to the sustainability of the particular tourist spot for the long term. You can help the locals economically in a better way like hiring them as tour guides or stay in a locally owned hotel, lodging, and etc. A collective effort to do the right thing for the environment and indigenous people from all parties in the tourism industry will make a difference!

Conclusion

Consider now your current travel practices on how they affect the environment and local community living at the tourist destination. Will you be able to sacrifice some creature comforts of traveling in an air conditioned car and instead go on a travel itinerary that involves walking or cycling? Can you resist the temptation of buying the stuffed exotic animal as a souvenir? Being a Green traveler is being eco-friendly and important for Sustainable Tourism. Now you should be able to begin realizing that the choices you make on your travels do count. Happy Green Voyage!

Being the first in everything is not always good. Buying a first generation touch screen technology laptop like the HP TouchSmart TX2 is perhaps more like a gimmick rather than a necessity now. The HP TouchSmart TX2 is the newest version of HP’s affordable range of tablet computers. HP had started manufacturing such tablet computers well than a year before Microsoft’s Windows 7; an operating system that is built especially for use with touch screen technology will be released. One thing is for sure. HP has been showing itself strongly to the consumers that the company will be a strong player in the computer industry when Windows 7 comes out.

HP should already be ready for the era of Windows 7. HP should be ready to produce & sell more products that use Windows 7 as HP’s first generation touch screen technology will only be improved. Currently touch screen technology is ok, not great, still lags here & there as seen in videos – not something one would want to splurge for other than for necessity. HP will be in the lead, at least among the leaders, or maintain & make better its current standing as top computer manufacturer as Windows 7 & a second generation touch screen technology is going to be a great combo. Asus & Lenovo seems to be heading the same way too.

How does ethical hacking help companies? By having a reputable ethical hacker attempt to infiltrate a company’s IT system, the company will be able to improve the security of the system by fixing the security weaknesses identified by the ethical hacker.

IT (Information Technology) security is so important nowadays that companies hire ethical hackers to help them test the strength of their IT Security. Such consensual hacking activity is done by contract between an Ethical Hacker and an organization, which without the contract would have the particular hacking activity be deemed illegal in the United States & in many other countries. This hacking phenomenon is called ethical hacking. The best of such ethical hackers have probably obtained certification from EC-Council like Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Security Analyst (ECSA), or Certified Hacking Forensic Investigator (CHFI).

How does ethical hacking help companies? By having a reputable ethical hacker attempt to infiltrate a company’s IT system, the company will be able to improve the security of the system by fixing the security weaknesses identified by the ethical hacker. This process may include the ethical hacker successfully breaching the company’s IT system’s existing security measures. Consequently, this ensures that dangerous hackers will find it more difficult or even impossible to do their evil deeds on the improved IT system. This practice of hiring an ethical hacker is beneficial to many companies, reflected by a recent study that shows salaries in the IT security space continue to rise despite the current global economic downturn.

To further progress in this career as an ethical hacker, one may want to receive training from EC-Council; a leader in IT Security training. Courses offered are Security Fundamentals, Ethical Hacking, Penetration Testing, Computer Forensics, Disaster Recovery, & Secure Programming; covering topics like Google Hacking, Enumeration, the Hacking Cycles, & much more! Also check out the list of upcoming iClass events in each of EC-Council’s training modalities. IT professionals can attend EC-Council courses online with instructor-led training through iClass. The profession of ethical hackers proves to show the public today that not all hackers are criminals as how popular media had led them to believe in the past.

Asus, the world’s popular netbook manufacturer has got another netbook version up its sleeve or more accurately, in the closet. The Eee PC 1004DN comes equipped with an optical Drive & biometric fingerprint reader, an absolute rarity for any current netbook. How they managed to squeeze the new features in a 10” netbook is certainly a step forward. Note that the specifications are still among the best of current netbooks. There is no confirmation from Asus about the availability & price for the Eee PC 1004DN. There is a possibility that this version will be further updated with a touch screen & offered with Windows 7 but it is mere speculation on my part.
