Cute Authoritative Pose Shop House in Melaka City
The above picture is of a house situated on one of the meandering narrow streets of Melaka City. You can see that it is unique & profoundly of a higher design class than the typical shop house near its location. Only the last section, possibly out three sections is used as a house. Quite clearly, it looks like a small mansion with its welcoming garden & ornate heavy columned gate. It’s worthy of a snap shot & possibly one of the most unique looking shop houses one can find in Melaka City!
The fact that the building only uses the final section of the original shop house, the idea is able to use the existing party walls of the annexed shop houses to bring emphasis to itself, much helped with the high tower, establishing a focal point to the viewer. It’s a good classical effort for having a unique looking shop house. However, the owner would be better off having such symbol of luxury on a bigger spot of land! It’s not a good place for such a creamy, grand style of architecture to be reduced; & it is as it is; a reduced authoritative pose on a small compound. Lord of one shop house land! Pleeasseee…Pphhbbt!
