Airport hotels are more often than not pricier than other hotels, catering to people with fat wallets that find the VIP lounge is not satisfactory. Perhaps I am exaggerating but I have met similar people at airports. It is why I was surprosed when I heard what I am going to tell you now. After a brief conversation with one Pakistani man at the Tashkent transit lounge, it has come to my attention that international airports in Pakistan like in Islamabad & Karachi possibly provide free rooms & meals for folks waiting in transit.

View of the Uzbekistan snowy countryside could be seen when the plane to Tatarstan, Russia was on the altitude decline upon reaching the Taskhent International Airport for transit. It was a clear sunny day & I was able to capture some good photos, looking out of the airplane; too good to show you folks but will be available for sale on many microstock sites (heck knows when..).

In the picture, the large map of the world looks deceivingly like a flat panel television. However, it is just a poster. The television is only a small retractable <>15” CRT television. One thing I do like about flying on Uzbekistan airlines is that there are drinks laid out in the back area of the economy class cabin. I often ask for servings of orange juice or apple juice. The stewardess probably knows that there are big juice drinkers like me so a few boxes of fruit juices were laid out for self service.
