The Environmental Protection Agency declared asbestos as hazardous air pollutant in 1970s. However, it is mentioned that there are still over 3,000 products that use asbestos like home construction products, insulation, brake & clutch linings, textile products, & etc. There are even products in antique items that have asbestos in them so you should be careful when buying such items. Nonetheless you do not see many products that have asbestos in it as compared to the yester years before the dangers of asbestos were found.
