Luxurious Sony Vaio P Netbook Good for Voyages

Tuesday, January 27th, 2009

You may have probably realized in the past that lugging about a large laptop or even a medium sized laptop, say 14” one is quite the burden on your voyages that include a lot of walking. Netbooks nowadays provide the perfect solution for mobile people or even travelers who want the convenience of using a computer wherever there go minus the backache. One can surf the internet, check emails, make VOIP phone calls, prepare documents, & perhaps even do a bit of photo editing with a netbook. As long as there is wireless internet connection (Wi-Fi) a netbook user will be more than smiling.

One such netbook that is designed to be easily portable, in fact even luxurious; a fashion statement that can fit into a jacket pocket is the new Vaio P “pocket style PC” from Sony. The device is so different from the usual netbook that some reviewers have dubbed the Sony Vaio P as more of a PC organizer than a netbook! Choose from luxurious premium glossy magnesium body casing options of Garnet Red, Olivine Green, Obsidian Black, & Crystal White. The Sony Vaio P comes in two models which feature the Intel Atom Z530 processor combined with a solid state hard drive (Model VGN-P15G) & the Intel Atom Z520 Atom processor combined with a normal hard disk (Model VGN-P13G) respectively.

The latter model weighs slightly more at 620 grams as compared to 594 grams of the solid state hard drive model. Anyway, twenty extra grams is not a big deal on long walks. Customers who pre-order the Sony Vaio P from now until Feb 14 2009 will receive a package that includes a matching color carrying pouch, MYR150 (about $43) worth of Levi’s voucher & a free Sony workshop. Prices for the VGN-P15G & VGN-P13G are MYR3788 (about $1082) & MYR2799 (about $800) respectively. The Sony Vaio P is a luxury netbook or PC organizer; however you want to call it & out of the budget range for many typical netbook users. I think I’ll just wait for the 10.2” netbook from Acer. Hopefully it will come with a touch screen & Windows 7. Happy Voyage!

Some features of the Sony Vaio P:

• 8” ultra wide screen
• Rectangle shaped body 245mm by 20mm by 120mm
• Intel Graphics Media Accelerator 500
• Wireless LAN
• Sony Memory Stick slot
• 64GB solid state drive on the VGN-P15G
• 60GB hard disk drive on the VGN-P13G
• Windows Vista operating system
• Almost 3 hours of 4 cell battery life

Perhaps you are bringing along your child on your voyage, holiday, trip, & etc. Suddenly, you realize that your child is less energetic than you would like to see.
