For you Muslim folks who want to try other Muslim Restaurants in Beijing then the above image has a short list of the Muslim Restaurants that I have found. Do note that Beijing is a very large city & you may require the use of taxis to get to the Muslim restaurants from the Forest & Land Hotel, Beijing, China. Also, I did see one Muslim restaurant called the Dong Lai Shun Muslim restaurant while on the way walking to the Forbidden City on the first day of arriving in Beijing, China.

It was located on the infamous Beijing boulevard called Wangfujing Dajie. On the Wanfujing Dajie is located five star hotels, fancy restaurants, boutique stores, shopping malls, & etc. We reckoned that it was a pricey Muslim restaurant since being located on the prestigious Wangfujing Dajie boulevard. Anyway, we did not check out the restaurant to be proven otherwise since we were on our way to visiting the Forbidden City! Above is the picture I took of the restaurant & you may want to have a meal there while in the area.

You probably know how tired you can be when just arriving in a foreign destination. The waiting at the airport, the long flight hours, the jet lag, & getting to the hotel will take its toll on your energy reserves. The first thing you want to do after checking into the hotel is rest for a while perhaps even a few hours. Soon enough, you start to feel hungry. Muslim folks like me & my lady must venture out of the Forest & Land Hotel to look for Muslim prepared food. Non Muslims may just head to the restaurant located on the hotel’s ground floor level. Actually, we could have just eaten at the hotel’s restaurant & ordered somee vegetables with rice or some other non-pork stuff. However, we saw on the Beijing Map that there was a Dongsi Mosque about five minutes walk away from the hotel.

We had half a choice to eat at a Muslim restaurant nearby so we decided to skip eating at the hotel’s restaurant. We thought that we could ask information of any nearby Muslim restaurants in the area when at the Dongsi Mosque. To our surprise, we did not find any Dongsi Mosque when we arrive to the location on the map. Instead, at its place was a Muslim restaurant. At first we were not sure whether it was a Muslim restaurant but we went inside & saw more than a few Arabic calligraphy works on the walls of the restaurant. Well, it certainly looked like a Muslim restaurant & the answer from the restaurant staff when I asked confirmed it.

Boy, were we hungry after having just arrived in Beijing, China. The food at the restaurant besides the Beijing Duck honestly don’t look appealing but the taste is another story altogether. The food prices at the Dongsi Mosque restaurant were reasonable too. I can’t recall exactly how much the food cost but I do recall paying less than I had expected to pay. However, you may want to skip ordering the Beijing Duck at the restaurant because it is overpriced. You can buy a delicious roasted duck just outside the restaurant at 1/3 of the price! We ordered some meat (Rou); probably chicken & vegetable dish. There is quite nothing like sharing a good meal of ‘niorou’ (beef), ‘Chirou’ (chicken) with ‘Mifan’ (rice) & wash it down with a gulp of healthy Chinese tea after a long day’s walk with a loved one in Beijing, China. The dishes tasted so good that you can see me trying to eat the food in super speed mode. Lol.
