My First Trip to Russia

It was in winter of 2005. As I can recall, it was around the 12th of December 2005. I was on my way to go on a trip to Tatarstan, Russia to meet my girl. Sorry, but my pictures at the KLIA airport on the day of my flight to Tatarstan, Russia was too blurry. I shall add some of my own pictures in future posts on the blog. KLIA Departure Entrance WayWe had chatted on ICQ for almost a year & decided that it was best for us to meet in real life.

I got some money, booked some flight tickets & she had to make a visa invitation for me (quite a hectic task to do) to visit her in Tatarstan, Russia. Being a former state of the Soviet Union, Tatarstan was beginning to open up to the outside world as many other former Soviet states. I was very happy to go to as it was my first visit to Russia.

Initiative to Start the Blog

Friday, June 22nd, 2007

I had traveled to a few major cities in the U.S., Australia, Hong Kong, Thailand, Indonesia, Brunei, England & a few more countries during my younger years. The experience was good & I am fortunate to have had the opportunity to visit numerous countries in the world. The most recent voyage for me was to Langkawi Island of Malaysia last summer & a one month trip to Tatarstan, Russia in the winter of 2005. My original plan for the first post of the blog was to be about my voyage to Tatarstan. Then, my girl, she is from Tatarstan by the way, kept lecturing me about wanting to go on a vacation in the coming summer. I figure it was good that she shouted at me today. At least it gave me the initiative to start the blog.

An Unexpected First Blog Post

Saturday, June 16th, 2007

I knew that I wanted to start the blog with a fantastic post about me on a vacation to an exotic destination. Well, at least I had the idea of it. However, things turned out differently, & I got sort of a rude awakening by my girl who keeps shouting at me about going on a vacation & how important it is to her health whenever I talk to her over the phone. I kept telling her that I did the best so we can afford to be together more often every year. Nonetheless, I felt that my explanations were heard with skepticism.
